I was born and raised in the western part of Ladakh India, in a small village called Hemisshukpachan. From my school days, I witnessed many tourists especially trekkers passing through our village. I often wondered what inspired people to trek long distances and visit such remote places.
During my school years in village our house had two rooms for homestay. Through this experience, I had the opportunity to meet people from many different countries. I loved sharing stories of village life and showing them around, using whatever English I knew at the time. Those early experiences sparked my curiosity and passion for tourism.
I entered the tourism field during my college years, initially working with local travel companies as an assistant guide with seniors to financially support myself. Over time, I learned on the job and gradually grew into the role of a guide, and worked as lead guide and naturalist, leading treks and tours across Ladakh for many years.
With over a decade of experience, I have guided travellers through Ladakh’s breathtaking landscapes, sharing local knowledge of culture, tradition, nature and wildlife. I deeply enjoy meeting people from different countries and offering them an authentic perspective of my homeland.
Inspired by these journeys, Experiential Journeys was born to create curated, meaningful, and unforgettable experiences throughout the year in a sustainable way.
